    street tires for F150

    Nick,

Can you recommend a few good street tires for my 2005 F150, please? I have the FX4 stock 18" wheels and OEM tires (crappy). I do not go off road, mud, etc. I'm looking for a good street tire with good winter traction capabilities. Black walls are a must (I don't like raised white letters).

I'd love to hear your expert opinion.

Good to hear - I was looking at those AT3s. I was wondering if it would be too much of an "off road" tire for me and would have to sacrifice noise/comfort too much. Glad to hear it is quiet for you. I'd love to try them out on a comparable truck. They sure look killer sweet on a truck! I have BFG Rugged Trails and I hate them. They are fine on the dry roads and such and are quiet and comfortable. However, I've always thought they SUCK in the winter, even when they were nearly new. I pretty much have never had confidence in them and found myself going to 4WD a lot just to get traction. The Michelin LTX seems like a good tire, but it is very expensive and they are really boring looking. Still, perhaps that is the best type of tire for my utilitarian needs?

I assume they are the 275/65r18's??
The cooper at3 is a fantastic tire. Same I have on my personal truck. Might be more noise then you looking for even though they are fairly quiet. Cooper cts has given us some excellent service. Look at those. Also toyo open country ht is really nice! Michelin would be extremely hard to beat. But if you don't like the looks of....
