    Migrating Wisconsinite

    Hey guys! I recently moved to Eagan from Wisconsin (somehow the girlfriend tricked me into moving states to move in with her!). While in WI, I hung out with a bunch of the CPonyGo.com (now MadisonMuscleMustangs.com) guys in Madison, and I'm looking for a similar group of car people here.

    I've got a pretty close to stock 2000 Mustang GT. 4.10 gears, ProChamber, and NX 100 shot. There's been a few minor updates (Spec Clutch, driveshaft, flywheel, Tri-Ax) since I was last to the track, so I'm hoping to get from high to low 12s this year.

    I've played with both V8s and 4 bangers, front, rear, and all wheel drive, turbos, and nitrous. I try to do most of my mechanical work myself, but I did have a shop do the gears. I like drag racing, but I also like my handling too much to drop the front sway bar or ever run 90/10 front struts

    I'd appreciate any info on what the nearest tracks around here are. I did see the post about the AutoX at Valley Fair, and I think I'm gonna have to attempt to make that my first ever.

    Hope to meet some of you guys this summer.

      Hi there, great to see your interest in autocross! We are always looking for more people to go to the course! Sounds like you have a pretty nice and fast car there, too. Feel free to post up pics, or even use the vbgarage to show us all what you have!

        Welcome!!! I went on the cruise to St. Louis with some of those guys to the WFC two years ago. They were all pretty cool.

                Hello Jeremy, here are some links to dragstrips that are half-way close by to where you live.

                http://www.brainerdracewayandresort.com (Not sure how many more years it will be open... but hopefully a long long time. It is a nice track.)

                http://www.interstatedragways.com/ (Dragstrip outside of Moorhead, Minnesota. From what I have seen, you get a lot of runs in here due to low car count, although it is quite a drive from where you live.)

                http://www.minnesotadragways.com/ (Supposedly a dragstrip in the works near Minneapolis some where. Keep an eye on this site for news regarding the possible new strip)

                http://www.pinerunracing.com/ (New strip in the works inbetween the Twin Cities and Duluth. This is headed by some X-BIR employees.)

                There is also a new race facility in the works up near Hibbing, Minnesota. The dirt track portion of that will be built first with a possible dragstrip being built within five years after it opens. I don't understand why they just don't reopen the old Keewatin strip up there rather then build a whole new facility.
                Anyways... there is plenty of dragstrip news happening in Minnesota right now so just keep surfing and staying up to date on it. Sounds like we will have plenty of tracks to choose from within the next few years.

                          If you ever see an Ivory Mark VIII zip by you at a high rate of speed, it is quite possibly me. I live/work in Burnsville, so not to far from ya.

                          And 5OStang, Pine Run is being staffed by a bunch of the folks from BIR, the investors are from the Forest Lake area. I know one or two of the guys involved.

                            Who won the division again? Vikes gave it to them 2 years in a row now OMG! poor vikings. you won't see them in the playoffs atleast in the next few years
