i looked at the scn9 last night, its got some spiderwebs but looks very clean, for 200ish its a solid buy...i also looked at the recleared freak 98, he got it in a trade and didnt know it was recleared, i dont know why they did it, i guess to make it look better but now it looks altered so if anyone is interested in that hes not giving any promises that its not been altered...let me know if anything sparks interest

The surface Clear coat (That protects the bat paint) was re applied.

This is often done after a bat is Rolled for more pop. Which makes the bat illegal.

correct...but the clear doesnt give it more pop or anything, ive rolled all of my bats and never had any issue with it effecting the look of the bat....it doesnt give it any benifit besides looking shinnier....

my guess as to why it was recleared is...my buddy bought it off a guy who said it had 40 hits and took the picture while the bat is on the ground and he was standing up, when he got the back its easy to tell it has like 400 or more hits...so im guessing he put clear coat on it to make it look newer and less used...

how can 3-4 year old bats be RETURNABLE?

I would not tell anyone that they are returnable, Miken WILL NOT warranty bats that old, I know this first hand.

Also, the bat that re-cleared is MORE THAN LIKELY altered. It was a huge deal to get Miken Ultras and have the re-decal'd with Freak 98 graphics.
The usual way to spot them was flat graphics, Im NOT saying that this is an Ultra, rather that was the way most of the reproduced graphics looked.

And before you ask, "yes" I had one at one point, one hell of a stupid hot bat!!! Was fun hitting home run derbys with that beast!! A fat guy like me with no skill was able to hit the ball 400ft!!!

no retailers would be selling a 3-4 year old bat as new.

I know the MN reps for those bat companies and have had conversations with them and with some of the companies.

If a bat is a year or so old, they will honor with a VALID receipt, older than that, you are totally taking a gamble.

I have played for sponsored teams, I ALWAYS had people trying to have me return bats for them.

**Im not ripping on you for selling bats, rather that you are saying that they would have a possible warranty. The bat companies have really cracked down on bat returns and fake receipts...

online retailers still have stocks of older bats...i get what your saying and im not trying to argue, and old old bats yeah, but couple year old bats, im not so sure they aint returnable...and since you the game, you know if the bat is returnable (whether you say say it is or not) they are valued higher...joe blow rec player might not know or care, but people do

again, not saying i fully disagree with you, but it does make a difference to a lot of people, ive seen it in every for sale thread on softballfans
