Gaborik to play on Wednesday against calgary?? Sounds like that might be the case. Any bets on pulling the groiner again in the game?
It'll be interesting if he plays, don't know how the crowd reaction will be. Last time I saw Gaborik play was against Calgary in the game to clinch the NW division where he score 2 goals (should have been 3, but ref make a b.s. no goal call) and really played to the top of his level. Hoping he can do that for 20 or so games for the Wild, then trade him before deadline.
Gaborik + prospect + low round pick to Montreal for S. Koivu and Higgins???
I read off of ESPN NHL site (garbage) that Mats Sundin in considering either Rangers or Vancouver. For the Wild's sake, I hope he picks the Rangers.

Interesting. Basically says that unless something crazy unexpected happens, he is signing w/ Vancouver today/tomorrow. I'll believe it once its on NHl/TSN.com, but if this is the case, I'd be willing to bet Gabby -> NYC.Pure as the driven snow.

I don't know about that...there was some news out of Canadia-land that Mtl wasn't even going to start talking to Saku about a contract renewal (I think he's FA after this year..have to double check). There was a lot more speculation during the Wild/Mtl game though. But imagine the heart attack Lemaire would have if he had 2 Koivu's on the team.Originally posted by Zinc View PostZero, repeat, ZERO chance the Habs are trading Koivu.
Maybe it's because I dont know a lot about him, but I'm not sure how good of a fit Zherdev would be. To me, that deal sounds like we're taking a step down.

Koivu is Mr. Montreal, by far their best player, and even besides that, the money involved is way off.Originally posted by MetallicPony View PostI don't know about that...there was some news out of Canadia-land that Mtl wasn't even going to start talking to Saku about a contract renewal (I think he's FA after this year..have to double check). If anyone from the Habs goes, it will be Kovalev, Lang, or Komisarek.Pure as the driven snow.

**Don't get me wrong, I loooooove to have the other Koivu on the team, I just really don't see that happening, especially since Gainey said he is 100% going to re-sign Koivu this off-season for a 3 year 4.5/yr deal.**
But time will tell.Pure as the driven snow.

Another reason, while on the Koivu subject, why he wont get traded. The Habs are in the midst of a really high expectation season/playoff run. There is just no way a team in that situation would trade their captain / best player for a huge injury risk / non-leader type of guy.Pure as the driven snow.

They might. I just got off the phone with them and i think they want to ink me for the rest of the year to make Saku expendable.Originally posted by Zinc View PostAnother reason, while on the Koivu subject, why he wont get traded.
