Modzilla is a bad ass sled, but now with the four-stroke turbos hitting the scene, there is no need for the homemade chassis and lay down style sleds. Just put a 600hp turbo motor in your everyday APEX chassis.
It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

that extra 320 feet is a big diff in mph and ice and tar are different.
quite a gap between a 600 and 1000 HP and the torque numbers as well as power under the curve of 2800cc on NOS vs. 1200cc on boost.
and just a note: he didn't spray till the 3/4 mark from what I saw.
my cousin was just considering building a drag sled today and I suggested a yamablo 4 stroker with a big turbo and spray to spool it.Mustangless!

That Yammi also holds the record in its class on ice as well. 163mph in 1000ft. What I am saying is the MOD STOCK class is quickly closing the gap on the full blown mod sleds. Look how stock it looks and sounds.Originally posted by 289Notch View Postthat extra 320 feet is a big diff in mph and ice and tar are different.

meh. I don't know how much is left on the table with that setup, but I know modzilla can do that with no power adder at all. just sayin.Originally posted by LES View PostThat Yammi also holds the record in its class on ice as well. 163mph in 1000ft. the guy running that sled is lynn anderson's kid jordan, i went to school with him good guy those dudes know their stuff but are old school and want nothing to do with 4 strokes as they ruin the sport look at motocross for example..... heavy.... and they always need a break aka double CC's as all the two strokes. they had to take turbos out of the open mod classes because nitrous wasnt allowed and thats the only way 2 strokes can hold a candle to them.98 contour SVT
not stock.

Did you just make a " RICER" argument out of snowmobile drag racing?Originally posted by ClOckwOrk View Postthe guy running that sled is lynn anderson's kid jordan, i went to school with him good guy those dudes know their stuff but are old school and want nothing to do with 4 strokes as they ruin the sport look at motocross for example..... heavy.... and they always need a break aka double CC's as all the two strokes. they had to take turbos out of the open mod classes because nitrous wasnt allowed and thats the only way 2 strokes can hold a candle to them.
Old school is cool , but technology will over come at some point. Look at outlaw drag racing? There are 4 cyl Turbos that can run with 800CI monster motors with 4 stages of NOS. And the Big Block turbo cars now hitting the scene are silly fast .
