The Mach Z was an animal power wise, but like wrestling a bear down the trail. It was the older 1995 chassis with a 779cc triple. Awesome power, but too heavy.

I'm impressed how much lighter this ZX chassis feels. Hopefully this 800 twin is as reliable as the old 779 triple. I didnt do a single thing to the Mach Z for the 7 years or so I owned it beside cleaning the carbs.

I was looking at a bunch of different 700-800cc sleds (MXZ's, F7's, XC's etc..) but many had 2500-6000miles for the money I wanted to spend. When I came across this sled the ad didnt even state how low the miles were (803mi) and that it was an original owner (plus in my book). I spent about $500 more than I wanted to spend on a sled, but figured for the extra cash, it has less than 1/4 the miles as others. Most in the 3000-5000mi range are ready for their first minor rebuild, so I would have had to fork out time and $$ for that within the year on them.

And in a couple years if I feel like selling it, it will still have very low miles

That was my reasoning for picking one up this summer.

I already thought of that, but the rest of it is in such nice shape. It has a great condition original belt as well as a never used OEM spare.

2003 was the first year of the new electronic instrumentation with digital odometer (cant disconnect/roll back) and it also has an hour meter showing total 20hrs 7min. So it spent most of its life averaged at around 40mph.

Was also an older guy who seemed pretty honest/sincere.

Sweet Timmy! We'll have to do some riding this year for sure. Maybe you'd like to come up to our cabin north of Grand Rapids some time?
