In all seriousness, it's an American right to be able to own, it's fun to shoot/hunt. And if someday, God forbid, I have to use one to defend myself or family, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I did not say anything about my rights to own one. As I have owned many. I just have never ever felt like I need to carry in my everyday life.

I'm with ya . I was just stating that I'm not going to say whether or not someone else feels the need to carry/own. It's up to them.....

Agreed. 100% up to them. That is why I asked the question? Why they feel they need to carry? So I can understand.

Don't know too many places of work that allow you to carry inside the building. If it's in your car, it's more likely to be stolen and used in a crime against someone else than it is to ever be used by you to defend your place of work.

                I never declared bankruptcy either...

les to answer your question, I first got the carry to keep in the car.when I was driving to and from work. I was working the night shift, in st Paul... and I started noticing people approach my vehicle at night, early morning asking for rides or if I wanted drugs.... it gave me a creepy feeling....I have a bullet proof lock box bolted to the car with an electronic lock and a relocker. that I keep my weapon in at work, as well as I keep my mag and barrel on my body when the gun is locked up.

after I had the carry for a few months it just seemed more natural to just carry it. to me, it is just another tool on my waist that I carry around... no different then my gerber or my measuring tape or my utility knife. it is there if I ever need it. I hope that the time will never come that I will ever use it... but I have made the decision to carry it. you darn well bet I am ready to use it if the time arrives. and I will have no regret... I will use it to protect and defend!

I have my reasons for getting the glock... the acc. market is good they hold there value and they are highly rated for their reliability... I like it also like it because of its feel in my hand... I would have rather gotten the xd... but I came home with a glock...

on a side note... the hi point is an ugly gun.... and most consider it a cheap pos that is better off as a boat anchor... I have shot 2 hi points one 45 and one 9mm compact... for a 100 dollar gun I dont see why people bitch. it functions well, its fairly accurate, and its cheep with a lifetime warranty... I would not trust my life on a 100 dollar gun... but I would shoot it at the range.

LOL @ all the people that think carrying a gun is about "need". It's about my right to do so, and my desire to be prepared for everything. Better to have and not need, than to need and not have...

There are a lot of things people CAN do but if they see no real point in doing so, why do it?

most guys who carry a gun are hickish, yeah, I said it. most probably drive big ole trucks/suvs too.

Exactly. If you don't see a point in doing so, then don't. Simple as that. I DO see a point in carrying, and because I'm legally allowed to, I do. Simple as that.

The hickish statement... well not even worth responding to, but it's safe to say I havn't been anywhere near owning "big ole truck/suvs".

I guess I just don't see the point, like Les and others have said.

I have lived 3 decades now with zero need to pull a gun out lmao.

but like you said, to each their own. seems like a huge hassel.

I've lived less than two but more than three, and have needed my firearm on two separate occasions outside of work. And this is in bumfuck South Dakota. I still believe on one of those occasions I would have gotten stabbed if I wouldn't have been carrying.

My point being you never know when you might NEED one. It's also a right that should be used so it isn't lost.
