Do want! For a street car is a roll bar/half cage more than enough for chassis strength? What are the rules at the strip on cages?

I believe you need at least a roll bar if you are 11.49 or faster.

Well, I decided to put some more hours in on this fuckin' thing today. Got a bit of work done. It wouldn't have been possible without the heated garage though. Wish I had one myself

Now we are just waiting on ordering the new K member and all of the front suspension pieces, then it'll just be a matter of putting it all back together.

Anyways, here's the pics.

I finished Dynamatting the hatch area and the rear seat area. It's been decided that we're just going to do a rear seat delete, so I didn't worry about cutting any of the holes out for the seat related stuff.





After I'm done with all of the Dynamatting and we get the rear seat delete, then I still have all of the factory sound deadner and quarter panels to put back in. For now their just sitting here in a pile.




So then I figured I'd get to Dynamatting the roof section. After today I think I'll be good on Dynamatting for a while. Every time I shut my eyes all I can see is that damn Dynamat logo You can see the factory sound deader up in there, and it didn't look like it did much at all.










So then for a sheer lack of ambition to do any more Dynamatting, I decided to turn to the front suspension. The other night I had already decided to take the passenger side brakes and whatnot off, so I turned to the drivers side.




Then I figured the K member would be next since I had the front suspension apart. We have yet to order a new K member, but we're thinking about going AJE at the moment. Anyone have good luck with them at all?




Pulled the rack out.

And I noticed that one of the ball joints was fucked. But we had planned on getting new ones anyways for the Cobra brake swap.

Right under the big blue box that says "Upload images and videos" you'll see, "Use CTRL to select multiple files (more options)." Click "more options" and select a bigger one. I have 17" screen selected.

I have an AJE in the '82. It fit pretty good. They have the modular motor mount system so you can put a 302, mod motor or LSX motor in there with the same k member. Don't worry about the ball joint. New ones come with the new A arms.
