To fuel the debate on whether they made a mach I vert in 1970 here are two photos. The first is the broad interior. The second shows the nameplate next to the clock. It is a little fuzzy as I had to blow it up - but you can see it says Mach I.
Is the Stolen 70 a Mach I Vert ???

If its is a 70 Mach 1 convert, it would be very rare! It would be 1 of none! They never made them.
Don't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.

Could be because you spelled convertible wrong in your phrase search.

That car is a 428 convert, not a Mach 1. They put the 428 CJ & SCJ in Mach 1s, coupes, converts, & base model fastbacks.
The Mach 1 was a option on Fastbacks only.Don't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.

Ummm, it does not state that is a MACH I, it is a '70 Cobra Jet Ram-Air Convertible.

Look, if you bought this car thinking it WAS a 1970 Mach 1 Convertible, you got bent over because as has been mentioned several times, and proven, they did NOT make one. A name plate on the dash is proof of only one thing, that the name plate says Mach 1. It proves NOTHING else.Originally posted by epfballcoach View PostTo fuel the debate on whether they made a mach I vert in 1970 here are two photos. The first is the broad interior. None the less, I do hope you get your car back.

All deluxe interiors had the woodgrain insert dash, and the panel could say Mustang, Mach I or Grande. They are very easy to swap out. I have swapped the same interior into my base 69 Fastback. The parts are all over ebay.
You have a couple of clues in your serial number. Check here: http://www.muscularmustangs.com/database/1970.php
The 5th digit in yours is an F, which means your car came with a base 302 2v engine. The base engine for all Mach's was an H code, which is the 351 2v engine. Also, your body code does not match a Mach 1 body code.
As I stated before, get a Marti Report. It will not only tell you what you have, but all the options it came with, the dealer it sold at, and a population report for the option packages. It's really a useful report.
