Check out the progress on the 5.0

progression or regression, i dunno. but i pulled the motor back apart last night for a whole new gasket set and i might do rings/bearings while its out and will either put on new heads before spring or port my stockers. but it will definitly be painted before i put it back in. but anyways, thought i'd post some pics:

threw these into garbage bags and they fit perfectly into the bottom drawer of my toolbox:

bagged and labeled everything for easy reinstall:

God I wish I had a garage as big as yours. I have to do all my shit in an one car garage. Good luck with the build. I am planning on dropping mine back in tomorrow sometime...see how that goes

ya, the space is nice, but it'd be even nicer to be able to have the car in the garage. post up some pics when you get the motor in

In addition to posting pics, could you turn on the lights?

The oil will eat through those ziplock bags soon enough.

Tearing apart shit is fun, putting it back together sux.

do yourself a huge favor sean and disassemble those heads and throw them in the garbage so You're not tempted to use them in the future. I've saw nice old 4bbl windsor heads sell for $100 with rocker studs alread installed.

Trying to port out EGR heads sucks and ends in failure if wanting to go fast.

i was just going to mildy port them myself until i can afford something decent. once again my budget>me. although next year i'm just hoping to have the thing running well without leaking anything, and to beat a certain bmw m3 at my school

if ya cleaned the garage a little maybe you could fit the car in there!!!!

been there done that. my dad had a '68 camaro that he was restoring between the two cars in there, and by the time he ended up having to sell it it had door dents and scratches and shit all over it. not worth it imo
