    parts for the ranger ...

Long block, harness, ecu out of an '86 turbo coupe, intercooler from an '87, Esslinger pulley and tensioner, etc in the garage now.

Tearing it at least part way down over the winter and cleaning everything up. Hopefully it'll be ready to drop in come spring.

    Sweet.

I've always considered 1993 and 1994 to be the perfect years of Ranger to swap - you've got the cooler looking body, but it's still got the older-style block and it's EEC-IV, unlike 95+ trucks. I helped a buddy swap his '95 XLT a few years ago and it was a BITCH to wire. Now he's got it running on Megasquirt and burning E85.

Not sure if you got to the Ranger Station to look at the details, but here is a link:

How to build a 4-link suspension. This guide covers geometry, link placement, instant center, anti-squat, and more.

I was contemplating this swap for a while....

There's a lot to digest there. I thing the swap will be pretty simple, overall, depending what your final goals are.

              NickK's truck...

              Old setup: http://homepage.mac.com/limefrog/con...k01-21-06.html

              New setup: http://homepage.mac.com/limefrog/con...is3-13-07.html

It's got a 95 dual plug head on a turbo shortblock with a custom log manifold, dual EDIS with MSnS-E, a Volvo FMIC, and a straight 3" exhaust. Sounds like a big rig.

My only goal is to roll by porkies and to PSSHHHHHHHH like all the subies and evos.

Mid 200's would be fine with me. Hell, anything more than the anemic stock 100hp would be too.
