He was parked at work and apparently a semi was leaving and managed to clip his whole driver's side!

My dad goes to leave work and sees this big black thing laying in the parking lot. He figures he better move that piece of plastic or he'd run over it when he leaves.

He picks it up and says, "Hey wow, it's a truck mirror."

Then he looks at his truck and says, "OH CRAP! It's MY mirror!"



And since we can't roll like that:



I think the Global Quick Dry Plus 20% does a nice job matching factory tint. Very easy to apply.

They know which truck driver did it and he talked to them a little bit. Now it's time for an estimate and all the insurance stuff.

Pushed the B-pillar enough to make the moonroof not fit right!!!!




The good news is, the cop that did the accident report liked the paint protection film on his hood and will most likely be calling me soon. =) Dad wrecks his truck, I get a job!

Trucker didn't see stop or anything.

In the time frame that it happened (like 10 minutes) 2 trucks left. They called both trucking companies, called the cops. The cops went and visited one of the companies and found a white trailer with red paint all over it. LOL.

So my dad called that company and asked for such and such and the guy on the phone said he went home for the day already. Dad says, "Well one of your drivers just hit me truck." The response, "Yeah, I was that driver. So and so will be in tomorrow."


FYI, this same driver hit the building last week!

Yeah, I really can't imagine the trucking company being happy with him.

My dad is totally bummed. He wants it fixed and fixed right. No bondo!

But considering the B pillar was smashed hard enough to cause the roof to bulge a little we're wondering what's going to happen.

He really doesn't want just a check and no truck. At the same time, he really doesn't want anything short of that truck being fixed with completely new parts all around.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow after the estimate.

That sucks Dan. Kinda reminds me of a trucker that got stuck in the street on the median right in front of my office last week (On Plato in St. Paul). The guy tried pulling into our parking lot, when he saw that wouldn't work because of the overhang the Bank has on that side of the building, he backed up and pulled out....well, he got the trailer caught on the tree right next to the exit, and his truck was stuck up on the median with the right extreme rear pair hanging off the ground. That thing didn't want to move at all.
