    Slicks

I bought these wheels and tires from StangerJon and he told me to take pics so, here they are. The wheels are OZ Monte Carlo’s. The reason I got 99 Cobra’s is I liked this wheel back in the day…like 8 years ago back in the day, but they were too spendy, so I finally got some, but they will be used to run these slicks. I run an SN95 brake conversion using 96-98 spindles and SN95 rear axles and as you can see in the pic, they do not stick out like so many people think. These tires are 255/40/17….10mm wider than the street tires I currently run. Surprisingly, they do not rub in front. And they are sticky as hell. I drove a block away to get on some pavement to take pics and the whole way I could hear rocks shooting into the wheel wells on the driver’s side. I parked it and the tires were covered with rocks…and I did not even heat them up. I am anxious to try them out on the track.

    So here’s some pics.

What do you like? The OZ on the front or the 99 Cobra in the rear? I personally like the OZ, even without the center cap.

I run slicks in the back…and front.

Side profile to show how the tires line up.

    Front Brakes.

    Rear Brakes.

Those are his track wheels so who really gives a shit how bad or good they look, as long as those frum cone tires hook then its all good.

I like the OZ's better because they kinda remind me of the wheels I really want, but you can never find them and if you can, it will easily cost 1500 which I am not looking to spend for wheels. Ever.

i bet it was a son of a bitch to turn with the full slicks up front when you werent going fast. when i got my rims the skinny's up front had m/t by-plys and with no power steering and no radials it sucked ass.

I only put the slicks on the driver side to see if they rubbed and for pictures. It was kind of hard to do a turn. Much harder than the normal tires. I only drove a block to get onto the pavement, and then put it back in storage. Even though they are used, and maybe past their useful life, they still do a good job of sticking without heat cycling them first.

You will be pleasantly surprised how well they work. Even for 5th owner tires.

don't be surprised if your power steering hiccups in slaloms, mine did. You get a sudden heavy feeling for a split second once in a while. Not sure if it was the pump starving due to fluid moving under increased G's or what.

When ever I go into a slalom with my tires it feels like I just plain dont have power steering. Same with taking a sharp corner one way, and then turning the wheel all the way around for another sharp corner.
