Thinking of blacking out stock wheels. Opininons wanted. *DUW*

Ok...I need some opinions. Here is my situation: I need new tires to put on my torque thrust II rims (see pic below), but I want to put r-compound slicks on them for Autocrossing, so therefore they will not be good for daily driving. I do have my stock three spoke/tri-bar rims with all-season tires installed on them that I could use for daily driving, but I hate the way they look (no offence to anyone who has and likes their tri-bars).

What I am thinking of doing is painting the inner part of the tri-bars, so when I have them on my car for DD-ing, I am not so turned of by their looks. I have photochopped a concept of what it might look like. opinions?

I have never been a fan of the 93 Cobra R wheels, but if that's the look you like, go for it.

What about putting a slick on the tri bars? put some 255/40/17's on them and you can keep those for your daily drivers.

BTW, your photochopping skills are pretty good. I want to learn to do it that well.

255's all around would not be a good as 275's front and 315's rear.

I am also thinking that since I live so close to work, I could just drive with the slicks (or "street legal" semi-slicks like Victoracers or something) most of the time, and then have the tribars with all seasons for those rainy weeks in the spring or if I know I have to drive a long way for some reason.

I kind of like the black spokes w/polished lip style wheels, and the black spokes kinda hides the fact that they are in fact tribars, so that is why I am considering this. It would just be a cheap and easy way to make my stock rims look a little better. I would probbably just use spraypaint on them, unless there is some speacial tougher wheel enamel that you can buy.

Paint the whole rim black. Not just the bars.

Otherwise paint match them red to the car.

I know this wasn't one of the options but i would find some cheap take off bullets that were scuffed or something and use those is if i disliked the tri bars so much.

Hmm, tri-bars suck. Black wheels suck. Black Tribars? Hmmm.

I'm selling some 1998 Cobra wheels or and some tri-bars.

Different sized wheels suck because you cannot rotate them. If you get slicks for autocross, going from 255's to 275's wouldnt make that much of a difference for your car until you get some aggressive suspension that would actually push them to their limit. IMO go out and get some cheap ass wheels and mount some slicks on them just for autocross.
