I guess the plates were registered before me, but they didn't keep the registration current... So I got very lucky... The plates almost make the car... It's what poeple seem to talk about the most. It was like xmas in july when they arrived in the mail.

Is there a way to see via the internet what custom plates have been taken without calling the DMV? Is that who you call to even inquire about suctom plates?

Goto a deputy registrar and you can see if what you want is taken.
