    Evy's new wheels

I got to go through the whole "saturn buying experience" that i've read about in the car mags and I must say I was impressed. I've never delt with such nice people and such a smooth buying process then I did with this car. We test drove TONS of little eco cars like the hyundai elantra and sonta, the cobolt, toyota corolla's, and then the Ion. The Ion was the only car (for the low price range we were in) that really felt and looked like a nice car. I love the ecotec that gets pretty good gas milage.

I read up on the crash test ratings and the Ion scored near perfect (perfect in some tests) and the 40,000 mile test that Car & Driver did on their staff Ion said that the maintenance on these cars and cost of ownership was lower then Hyundai's wich surprised me.

I was really unimpressed with the base model cobolt's, they felt so cheap. Glad the Ion has the same engine though.

It's actually a used 2004 Ion, has 12,300 miles and we got it for 12k. I think the city mpg is 30.

                    I disagree.

                        nice.

only thing I dont like about the eco tech is the oil filter. it is an internal design, so you need a special tool to get it out, and it costs around $10.

                          nice car
You just need a big socket (cant remember but somewhere in the 30-36mm rang) shallow with like a 12 inch extension. Thats what i used when I was changin oil to pay the bills and it worked but i guess if you dont have that stuff on hand the $10 tool is cheaper. anyways nice buy keep us up to date on how it does I am curious. Dont know much about saturns
