Either way, those motors were horrible. They probably used '85 for the start of their 3rd gen list because it was the first year for the "Iroc" package IIRC?

Yeah, but there was also a major appearance change in 1985 as well as the introduction of the TPI.

The early Firebirds are more desirable to some because of the appearance, and the engine usually gets replaced anyways so the crossfire isn't really a factor to most buyers imo.

I look everyday for a '93 Cobra in teal, I also look for true IROC-Z converts two that I want that are on the list.

While it's not a convert, my uncle and aunt have an 87 IROC with ~11000 miles on it that they would sell for the right price. No t-tops either.
