Plus they never wear out.
Just got power back. I was stuck in the garage when that shit came through last night, scary. One tree down, branches everywhere, rain was sideways, watching it whip over my house like a super bad snowstorm, it was blowing from the west off the golf course so its got a good run at my house. If I didn't have a battery back up sump pump I'd be fucked.

I was in the garage as well.... thought I could have the doors open to watch, I was wrong... shut them and watched from the window. Was pretty crazy,
We missed the bad stuff last night. Just a little rain and tons of lightning, no damage and no flooding thanks to being on top of a hill. Worst we had was all of a sudden our lights got super bright. So we turned off all the lights And just had surge-protected stuff on.
Gotta go check the shop though. It has a tendency to get water coming in when we get this much rain. Most makes it to the floor drain, but there's a couple spots that puddle because the floor is uneven in spots.
