Damn almost got 2 Harley douchebags in one go.

Also from the officer's point of view which would of been a little further to the left of the dash cam I could buy the argument the guys hand looked like it was reaching for a gun in his waist line. Why the other idiot went and crashed his ride is beyond me.

Like I said Harley douche bags, LOOK AT ME MY MUFFLER IS MISSING OMG I'M SO AWESOME. If they were so bad assed on their bikes they would of been bullet proof.

Officer should be convicted of criminal and charges and the family should file a civil suit for lots of money. I hate sue happy people but this guy is disabled for the rest of his life because a cop got nervous and made a somewhat understandable mistake. He's still responsible for his actions like anyone else though.

Cops are not allowed to shoot "just in case". You are a police officer. Your job has certain occupational hazards and being shot is one of them. FUCKING DEAL WITH IT. You have training, backup, dogs and kevlar vests to protect your life. Quit being a pussy and only fire your weapon when it's absolutely necessary.

"I thought he had a gun" isn't a valid defense. "I thought she was 18, I though it was a 65 zone, I thought the burglar had a knife" are all useless defenses to a civilian and they should also be for a cop.

The guy did look like he was grabbing for something.

Alhtough I think the cop would have had time to make sure
          before he pulled the trigger.

Its always easier to make these "monday quarterback/ hindsight is 20/20" calls when you're not in the situation. After watching video the victim looks relatively harmless, but there could be much more than just what we are seeing. That being said the officer has a responsibility to not just be shooting shit "just because". They do have training for a reason. I'm not going to make too much of a judgment call because I wasn't there and I wasn't seeing exactly what the cop was seeing (minor things that he perceived to be happening)

Normally I take the police officer's side in these types of situations but I saw no threat, and even if he did have a gun the guy would have had to be extremely flexible to swing all the way around in a timely fashion to get a shot off at the cop. My guess is the cop thought he had drawn his taser and actually had his firearm.

That would be the most reasonable explaination I could possibly see given the video. That would allow me to retain more respect for the guy as a police officer but it would make 0 difference to me as a juror.
