My policy on TCS was to let adults talk and act like adults. Let the community hang you out to dry if you say something stupid/racist/mean. I never wanted to babysit.

The biproduct of this is you get people like the TCO guys who like to beat the drum that this forum is racist, and myself and the mods are racist because we "let it go on".

Sure, we could have deleted every offensive post and every offensive thread but why? Were all ADULTS. Not my problem if someone said something ignorant, it's their problem.

Scorpner, you seem to imply that free-speech takes precedence over what's right. If a person has the right to speak whatever they want, then why can't you find racist comments on websites at General Mills, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, US Banks, Wells Fargo, Wal Mart, etc? Are they suppressing free speech by not allowing their employees to post racist comments on their sites? Are they in danger of having the same effect of, as you say, the wall in Germany?

Thats the best argument he can come up with??
