I am a huge Band of Brothers Fan. Great actors. Great story. Great everything. Might be the best miniseries of all time.
Been waiting for years for this new Band of Brothers. Saw the preview on Youtube and came instantly. BOING!
Waiting…..Waiting….Waiting…
It comes out. I have seen all of the ones released to date, which I believe is 6 episodes. Then it hits me. I have no fucking clue who anyone is in this show. The only person I do know is Lecky, and that’s only because his name is somewhat rememberable.
I remember that the first Band of Brothers received a lot of negative remarks when it came out due to the first episode being somewhat slow, but that was necessary IMO to build the storyline.
In The Pacific, there was no story. Some tiny intro, then on the beach we are. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get into this flaming piece of shit. I keep waiting for it to get better, but it never does.
Hanks and Spielberg must have listened about the first Band of Brothers, which is why the first episode was right into the action, but then on the 3rd or 4th episode, the whole fucking deal is about them being in Australia relaxing? The fuck? I want to see historical shit, not an hour full of that crap.
So…this 10 part miniseries blows because…
No character development.
No Navy Scenes (yet)
No story about why they are doing what they are doing. I know tons of shit about WW2, but in this movie, they barely touch on why they are going to a certain place….it’s just to KILL THEM JAPS.
Fuck The Pacific. But I’ll still watch the last 4 episodes.
