Anyone work at a DMV/DVS location, I need help.

I found a car down here in OK, that I want it has been abandoned years ago and the current owners just want it gone, its a long drawn out process to go thru here.

I checked the MN website and I meet every requirement online, but there are some not online and that worries me.

Anywho, Is there anyone that could help me out?

Story on car, Car broke down here in OK, owner sold it to guy for $$ to get a plane ticket, new owner gave it to current owner, current owner wants it gone to me. Timeline 5 yrs.

Current owners tried to get a title a year or 2 ago, but lost the form but they filed public and police reports as per OK title agency then said F it because it was the holidays and don't have time or $$$ for the car.

    I appreciate all/any help advice.

    Aaron

Well, depending how old the car is, it could have been parked long enough to where it's no longer in their computer system. Then they would have no idea when/where it was titled.

If it's been sitting that long, I highly doubt ANY state would have record of the car. I'm not exactly sure how they do it today, but it use to be 7 years (if I remember correctly) of inactivity and the car would drop out of their system.

Yeah, it's called being purged. And that doesn't mean he can just apply for a dup. He'll have to fill a statement of facts. Then wait.

I didn't say it was going to be quick! And yeah, you CAN just apply for a new title. I've done it, and so have a few friends I know. A statement of facts is no more than just a few sheets of paper that you fill out with some basic information and sign it, not a big deal! And yes, be prepared to wait! The state of Minnesota takes FOREVER when it comes to anything out of the ordinary. (other than standard title transfer) They may also make you "Bond" the title, which will cost extra...... but how bad do you want the car?

I once built a vehicle completely from scratch (built from the steel yard, not from an existing vehicle) and titled it in the state of Minnesota. THAT FUCKER TOOK FOREVER to get the title!

                        It CAN be done.

                        Good luck.

No, you cannot just apply for a duplicate. If a vehicle was previously titled out of state MN can't duplicate a title that doesn't exist.

I turned in a statement of facts some time last year and I'm still waiting.
