+4. Was about to go to sleep, but I ended up watching all 3. Pretty interesting how he was able to even get in there and shoot what he did. I definitely wouldn't have the balls to do it. Really goes to show how fucked up that regime over there is to their people and how hard they try to show the world how good they are. I just can't believe they think the rest of the world actually falls for their bullshit.

I watched the first video and will watch the others later. From the first view minutes it seemed there was a fair amount of sensationalism going on in the film. Are countries like this crazy? Well, yeah. But the sense of danger and foreboding in every shot is exaggerated. I haven't personally been to North Korea...yet, but I've talked to American ex-pats here in China who have made the trip. It's super simple to get from China to North Korea. He lists a ton of western embassies that couldn't get him in, but what did he expect? Honestly, it's as simple as finding a Chinese travel agent. After that, everything will be taken care of for you if you want to go to North Korea. After this clear exaggeration I watched the rest of the clip with a bit of incredulity.

What really interests me about this thread and the subsequent video is the difference in perspective between Americans and Chinese people about North Korea. I've talked to Chinese people here about it and EVERYONE has the same answer/attitude. "Oh, North Korea? Yeah, it's just like China 30-50 years ago. We'll wait and see how it turns out." As usual, the over-the-top pragmatist Chinese worldview puts it into perspective. I guess we'll all have to wait and see what North Korea will look like after the Kim dynasty finally dies off.
