Manual transmission, smarty tuner and turbo-back exhaust. Neither will void your warranty. You stay classy Chet Beireis

See post #1 dudeOriginally posted by xjfish View PostSo buy a brand new gas truck... Drive them all and pick what you like sir! If I was in your shoes I would definitely check out an '09 Tundra as well.
I already did that and am looking for reliability and real world mileage sinerios of this truck I liked best.

Plus they never wear out.
I disagree.

O rly? What the fuck is he doing with it? I regularly service quite a few Dmax 2500HDs with IFS with 200kish miles and none have ever had any "front end" issues besides wheel bearings (they all go to shit after 150k) I prefer a solid front myself, but for 95% of these trucks the IFS works just fine. YES it is a weaker setup than a solid front. Surprisingly even the factory CVs seem to hold up well...Originally posted by SFC View PostThat's because the chevy's run IFS instead of a solid axle. Great if you never leave the road. The dude who just bought my old truck did it because he was on his third front-end in his 06 chevy.1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera

It could get 45MPG and 1000 hp, but in the end I would need a 3/4t or better to get one and hence it would ride like absolute shit in the process. As much as I like a deisel option, this will not be used for towing enough to justify the leap in price for 1.HD variant or 2.the pricy deisel option just to have it ride like a go cart with no suspension.Originally posted by SFC View PostManual transmission, smarty tuner and turbo-back exhaust. Works in the oil fields in Canada. Tows a bunch of equipment back and forth to the drill platforms. Beyond that, I couldn't tell you. I could give you his email address if you want to ask though

I couldn't swallow the price of a new diesel either... then again, I think the g8 will be the only new car I'll ever own.
