    What oil do you use?

What ski's are better? (Metal or Plastic?)

      Sorry video master, I appologize

I believe plastic skis are the way to go lighter and more flexible, I dont think any of the newer sleds have metal any more.

I also use what ever skidoo recommended for the sled from the deal but pro not the cheapest.

Are you new to the sled thing or just a new sled?

I agree with this. I have only ridden friend's sleds and they all had plastic skis (with carbide tracks of course) As far as oil, maybe join a sledding forum and ask the question there or contact a dealer for AC and ask them what they would recommend. You could check a manual but it might be outdated and something way better superceeded it in recent years.

Plus they never wear out.

        I disagree.

I will have to double check but I think the ski's on my sled are metal right now. I was at Fleet Farm tonight and was looking at the Artic Blue that KrisR told me about and also the amsoil and decided on the amsoil cause it is full synthetic and I know they make a good product.

Believe it or not Cenex TCW3 is rated one of the top for non-synthetics. I know sleds with 7000mi on them that have run nothing else... I'd probably go with Amsoil today tho.

Well typically if they were metal from that year they would have a plastic cover on them since that was all the rage in that era. Also the metal was thinner ... ya know being steel and all vs plastic.

This is irrelevant without knowing how many miles it was ridden, also like I said I used the basic Arctic Cat oil on my ZR440 with 91+ oct fuel at all times. Never had a single problem and sold it at 4400 on the tach but more like 6000+ since I rode a full year plus with no speedo. I never tore it down but it ran the same from beginning to end. Two owner sled (my dad and I).

My neighbor uses XP3 and Mercury out board oil. And the funny thing is he told me the same exact thing. "pulled exhaust valves and looked like new"

So ya, great indorsement! Lets keep it fact based..
