    ZR2 Issues ?

My GF is looking for a winter beater and likes the ZR2 Blazer and Sonoma's. Would be looking at one with around 100,000 miles or so from what we have seen. Being a common vehicle I assume some people on here have owned them... what issues did you have? Did you like it? Would MPG did you see?

besides the font suspension is shit, the intake leaks, the heater core plugs and fuel pumps go out on them, there's nothing wrong with them at all
Dear Government, eventually the people with money will tell you to fuck off, and stop paying for those that don't work

I could never buy a gen blazer/s10 like that.

The majority of them I worked on were garbage. And this is from 98-06 where I spent every day of my life working in cars, where most of those were still "newish"

As far as the rusting goes, yup! Co worker has a S10 extreme, moved here from Boston. He is the original owner and it has something like 40k miles on it. A year after he moved here (last year) whole drivers side cab corner rusted the F out.
You have been banned for the following reason:
Yeah, I'm really tried of cleaning up after you.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

I knew about the intake gaskets but not all that other stuff. Fuel pumps I would assume are the same as the 5.7 Vortec... go to crap at 100,000 like clockwork. Whats the deal with the heater core and front suspension?

They're cheap, and leak & break. Pitman & Idler are in every s10's future, zr2 or not.

It's more Idlers and ball joints that I've seen. Not to mention Hub and Bearing assemblies.

Not to mention if some dumbass kept the DexCool in it still. Maroon Pudding

I had an S-10 from that era, and I swear it was designed to malfunction. It was the most unreliable vehicle I ever owned. It had under 100k miles on it, too.

S10's are for teh gays anyways, nobody likes them.

But seriously, you can find a better deal on something else, much more reliable. Like an Aries K.

Reliable winter beater? I'd go with a Buick with a 3.8L.
