Yup. I own every Madden (sans this years Madden '05) and I've generally liked its gameplay. Well, I picked up ESPN NFL2K5, NEW, for 20$ and it blows madden out of the water.

NFL2k5 has WAY better graphics and better physics to it. The players move how they SHOULD move, and it looks fantastic in HD. IT makes madden look like a cartoon.

NFL2k5 also has FAR, FAR better in-game, and out of game commentary. It looks/sounds JUST like an ESPN game on TV, with seamless and INFORMATIVE comments. And the post-game and half-time anaylisys is superb! They have Boomer (Chris Berman) as the commentator and its just crazy how real it looks/ sounds. He'll go though some of the big plays, and disect them and explain how they happend.

I give nfl2k5 a rating of 9/10, and Madden 05 a 8/10

Dude.. ESPN/Sega NFL games have been better than madden since they came out in 2000. I've been a loyal 2kX fan for years and it's cool to finally see people come around after Sega droped the price. I think that was the only way to make Madden fans FINALLY see that there is a better game out there.

2k5 is amazing, I spent about 4 hours playing it Saturday playing it in franchise mode. It's fun making your own super players then signing them to a big contract.

For 20 bucks you can't go wrong with this game.

Best looking football game ever made, period.

I agree it is an awesome game, but for football game NCAA is by far the superior game. I love every single NCAA football game. and thats only because of the option run. best play ever.

Well a lot of it depends on what console you play on, but 2k5 is definitely the better game for the money. However if you see Madden on the PC, it'll blow Xbox 2k5 out of the water.

The option play is a good play. Too bad the pussy NFL QB's won't run it, they don't wanna get hurt. I personally love the ol' flea-flicker circa Tecmo-Bowl. Always good for a TD.

im with punch on this one, i have the very first NFL 2k for Dreamcast!! they have always been better then madden! the players move right, controls are simpler, plays are easier to pick due to ease of knowing whats going to happen. comments are better too, madden games comments are soooo stupid! ill have to go pick this one up, last 2k game i got is NFL 2k3....plus, i think sega made the right move going to ESPN with there game, really made it even better!

J- I was in the same boat as you. I HATED the sega NFL series, but for 20$ I couldnt pass it up, and IM GLAD I didnt pay the extra 40$ for madden.
