    Digital TV Antenna

So i put a TV out in my garage, cause if the vikes are on on a sunday after noon and im in there tinkerin, i wanna watch the game. So, i put a 27" tv out there with a digital converter box, i tried a set of rabbit ears, i couldnt get channel 9 . I went to target and bought some phillips brand for 20 bucks, that aint any better, what do you guys/gals recommend for an antenna for a decent price? Thanks

Tone, buy a cheap Digital one for outside, mount on roof or side of garage and run a cable through the wall. That is what I would do.

It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

I use a digital antenna/usb hookup for sundays.

Channel 9 is spotty from what i have observed.

For one tv, I use the old antenna the PO of the house mounted in the attic in the 60's. The other tv, I use a cheapie $15 amplified antenna I bought 6 years ago.

Are you re-scanning the channels after each time you adjust the antenna?

I'll be shocked if you get it with an antenna at all down there.

Yep, did that, its only at like 50% signal for the most part, even with this new one. No matter how i adjust it. This is what i bought, didnt make much difference over the rabbit ears i had.

i have a decent one from best buy. i think it might be messed up, but i'm not sure, i dropped it once and it hasn't worked as well since. i paid $50 for it. it started working pretty good again the other day and gets all channels again, this digital stuff seems more picky on what type of weather/air is out there too.

i also bought an outdoor one from best buy for $100, with the big grid in back and circle things, it didn't work any better than my 50 dollar flat one, so i returned it. although the outdoor ones are supposed to work better the higher up you get them.

Any way you can put the antenna outside of the house or even on the window sill of a window facing towards Shoreview and run a cable to your tv?

Nope, the big doors face to the west, only window is on the east side, so im probably gonna have to get an external antenna you think?

You could look into a signal boost amplifier as well. I used to use one before I had cable, but don't know what's available for HDTV though.

I looked around and found this link, but it's from the UK. Gives the general idea though.
A Freeview signal booster, also known as an aerial amplifier may help improve digital TV reception in fringe areas which get a weak Freeview signal from a distant DTT digital TV transmitter. For most benefit in improving Freeview reception, we recommend fitting a digital TV signal booster as close as possible to your TV aerial, rather than behind your TV, where it will offer few benefits.
