Tested my new Hi-Point 9mm carbine (Thanks SweetLou!)

Went to Bill's north today and tested out my new(to me) Hi-Point 9mm carbine.

This gun is amazing, I've shot a lot of guns and I just don't have any real complaints about this thing. Yeah it's not a super duper awesome tactical gun capable of mowing down hoards of juggalos from 3 miles away...but it doesn't cost $3,000 either.

I shot about 300 rounds and using a red dot sight I was getting a 4" cluster at 50 yards while standing unsupported....Not at all bad for a 9mm!

Did not have one failure of any kind.
    Trigger pull was very nice.
    Decently balanced.

I was using the original stock and the aftermarket stock pad with 2 magazine holders and I was very comfortable.

Not once did the plastic stock annoy me....I guess the only thing that I didn't care for was that it's a slight pain to lock the bolt to the rear, and the bolt doesn't lock to the rear on your last round...But count out 9 rounds and slap a new magazine in and you don't have to worry.

Higher capacity magazine would be nice, but for a $200 gun with a lifetime warrany IT'S FUCKING AWESOME!

I told you so, like 6 months ago. Waytogo!

To be honest I was surprised at the recoil the little/tiny 9mm gave through a rifle. I thought they would just pop like a .22

I think you meant couldn't care less.
My couch pulls out but I don't.

      Thx.

      Fixed.

Yeah the recoil was perfect. I was doing reflexive firing and it had enough recoil to give you a grin but it was still easy to double tap and get head shots on both rounds.

I'd definitely consider picking one up after shooting Grifter's 9mm version a couple different times. 100% reliable. I dont see a problem with the gun. Its kinda ugly but that can be fixed.

I used to pluck armadillos with that thing in Bama, and stayed on target for quite a good distance. Glad you like it! That pad actually helps quite a bit with the recoil, I was surprised. I took it off to see the difference, I thought it was a big difference.

Red dot sight, headshots, double tap? You playing Call of Duty or shooting at the range?

Good stuff. I love mine. I just tore mine down to paint the stock. If I dont like it, I will just get the ATI stock. There are some 15rd mags from Promag. They are supposed to be a bit flaky though.

I don't see a lot of instances where I'll ever have to use a weapon against someone at <50 meters and not have to do reactive fire to get a quick kill. I'm not a fan of sitting at a short range taking time to perfectly set up shots unless I'm sighting in an optic.

Plus red dot FTW at closer distances, keep both eyes open and changing your sight picture does not change where your bulllet lands.

I thought about ordering some of those mags but I also read about problems with them. If I ever need to use a gun I want to know that it's going to ruin someone else's day (as opposed to mine) every time I pull the trigger.
