I've got a buddy in Apple Valley who needs to send the head for his 02 Stratus out to get checked while he's replacing the head gasket. What is nearby and does good work?

I personally wouldn't send it in unless I overheated the shit out of the engine or I though the head had some other problem. In which case I would do what sfc said a just get a different head.Comment

My buddy's wife had been driving the car and had overheated it several times. He suspects that it's only a bad water pump and that it could be burning off coolant by leaking directly on the exhaust, and thereby leaving no puddles. My experience with magically disappearing coolant has always been head gaskets. Not saying that this one couldn't be different, I'm just running on the law of probability.
