    Sh!ts plugged

I believe the main waste pipe from my house to the street is plugged. I've spent the last 4 hours or so fucking around with my snake/auger with not much luck. I even pulled the upstairs kitchen sink drain apart and yanked a toilet in the basement to try to get further down the pipe. It drains, just very slow.

Any chance the city is responsible for shit outside the home but still on my property? My guess its my responsibility and I need to call a plumber. What would a plumber use thats superior to my hand auger?

SDK wanna run up to Brained tomorrow? I have legos.

      Nope, your responsibility.

A drain cleaner would use a machine driven snake with a 3-4" head on it. Be prepared to pay $250+ to clean out your main.
When we got to my place, I already had a candle burning. It was by "Glade", which I think you pronounce like the singer Sade, because it is an exotic candle that smells just like real pine.

Yeah from the house to the curb is your problem, the city takes it from the curb and out. Are there any trees in the front yard? Most of the time it's roots that grow into the pipe and clog it. If you do have to replace the main hope to God your city doesn't make you use a specific company they have under contract. I know Golden Valley makes the home owner use 1 of 2 companies and of course they are a few grand more than any other company.

Yes there are trees in the front yard, big ones. House is probably 50+ yards away from the street. I've heard about roots growing into the pipe before. Supposedly this place was recently (within past 5 years?) hooked up to city sewer over from private septic but who knows how old all the pipe is or if it was all replaced? I suppose I should call a company that advertises pipe cleaning, not just any Joe plumber?

This used to happen at my house a lot. It hasn't happened since last year when they dug up my yard and replaced the from the street to 20 feet into my yard. But Just go to Home Depot or a rental place and rent the 3/4" power auger and get as many extensions as you'll need to reach the curb. I needed like 75 feet worth. Kind of a shitty job, literally. But it should only cost ya about $50-60 to fix it.

Might have to give that a shot first. Didn't know you could rent one. I suppose I would need 150 feet or so to reach the curb. I did manage to pull a small wad of nasty shit out with the little 1/4" hand auger where it seems blocked maybe 15 feet away from the house. The thing kept getting twisted around itself as I kinked it in a couple places. Looked like half decayed hair/pubes n shit? So maybe I'm ok on the tree roots.

Hmm already have $1600+ into the plumbing last couple months, might as well keep going.

I'm not "Metro" but I know of the #2 pooper...
