I think it is awsome. There are alot of places that my wife and I can't go cause she is alergic to the smoke. I would not mind if they smoked in places if they had a totally sealed off room that people could smoke in. But this crap of having smoking tables right next to non-smoking table is pathetic cause there is no way to stop the smoke from going into the non-smoking section.
I think that restaurants will actually gain more business as the people that have kids will now start going to other restaurants cause there will be no smoke that can affect their children.
Pretty much with Minneapolis passing this law, this will be a chain effect that will pretty soon encompass the entire state.
I think its a good idea, it would be nice to go to a bar and not come home smelling like heaters (cigs). But who knows if and when that will happen around here.
I would have to agree with the concencus (sp) so far

Take a stroll out of your house sometime to say the local mall. You will see plenty of teenage corn fed mancows devouring cinnabons like it's their last meal.
I smoke and I am for a ban, secondhand-smoke is so bad for people. You cannot smoke anywhere in Duluth. Except bars that do not serve food.
P.S. I just joined a quit smoking program from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Kind of nervous since I have smoked for about 12 years. Any other people trying to quit cigerettes?
Decind, you have to really put your mind into it and just quit like that! I smoked from the age of 12 (yes twelve - really) to 23. I stopped going out to bars and removed myself from situations that made me want to smoke.
Im definately for the bann. ITs bullshit that nothing was done about it earlier. It sucks when you head out to some club in your best threads with some Hugo Boss or TH to smell great and within 5 minutes you smell like tabacco! And yes, 2nd hand smoke is much worse for you healthwise than if you smoked it yourself. I hated hacking and coughing the next morning from 2nd hand smoke

I Am...but I guess I can't really say it's working considering I've already gone through a pack in 14 hours.
Funny the association just posted signs at the outdoor pool that say no smoking at the pool, This to me is totally ridiculous since it's outdoors. As far as a smoking ban for Mpls i disagree with it and you can bet the law is reversed within a year after the buisness owners lose buisness. I know alot of people that will not go to a bar/reatuarant if they can't smoke there, So they will go to other places.
Buying muscle/sports cars/regular cars/trucks, send me info, I pay cash or credit card if that makes you feel better!
