XBOX modding? WTF

Here's the scoop...

I bought an xbox from a garage sale for 10$. It booted to the stock dashboard.

I bought a duox modchip for it, the cromwell one. Installed it, flashed the bios on one of the banks...

It must not have been the correct bios, and when it boots from that bank, it does the on/off thing and frags.

On the other bank, if I bot to it, about 10sec or so, it doesn't respond, so, I can't use my installer disk. If I reboot, I get an amber light. HDD and dvd spin up. WTF...

Every other xbox I ever done I used an xecuter chip and within 20min I had a working haxbox. IDK WTF the deal is here, but, I have triple checked everything, put a diff fan and heatsink compound on the GPU/CPU, and looked over the board for splashes with my magnifying glass and still nothing. All of the caps are fine on the mobo.

I am at ends.

I've done a few. Sounds like bad bios. Find a good source for the right stuff and try reflash?
