    AC

So after the damn house filled up with sand today cause the windows were open. I turned the AC on and it was 84* now it is 79* 5 hours later.

Does that seem ok to you?

unless you live in a 10,000 sq. ft. mansion id say you have a problem.

check your ac unit outside and make sure there isnt any leaves or anything clogging up your cooling fins

Mine took a while to cool off yesterday, too. No frosting though, just a REALLY old shitty unit.

I assume it is a little low. I should have someone out to fill it before the pump goes out. But Im lazy.

Your a plumber right. You can do it yourself and braze the lines. Just have someone charge it.

Ex commercial HVAC tech chiming in.

Freezing up can cause damage to the compressor, we all know what happens when you "compress" liquid in an engine

A lot of modern homes have the cheapest AC unit possible for the house. I have a 2200 sq/ft home and my AC unit could fit in your average car's trunk and it barely gets by when it gets hot and humid.

If your house is warmed up on the inside, your walls/floors/ceiling/air will all take time to cool down. Just like a brick wall stays warm hours after the sun goes down and the air temp drops.

Also if your furnace filter or furnace system is dirty or one of the 3M high filtration ones that can cause problems. I run the nice 3M ones in the winter/spring/fall and cheaper ones that flow better in the peak summer months.

Central air or window unit? If its an old window unit, toss it in the trash and buy another.
