Any plumbers in here? Have a toilet install question.

I'm looking at putting in a half bath on the lower level of our house. There is a drain in the corner that I want to put the toilet, but I can't tell if its for a toilet, floor drain, clean out, or vent.

The drain goes about 4 feet straight down, then takes a turn towards the outside of the house. There is a smaller pipe merging with this one about 12" below the floor and looks to be about 2-3" in diameter. The lower level is a concrete floor.

I know its not the best description, but any help would be appreciated.

I added a spare bathroom in my extra bedroom. Very easy install:

We already have one of those, but it sucks when we have family over.

A lot of houses have a cleanout in the basement and it is usually within 12" of an outside wall. It would not be vented but many people do anchor a flange to the floor around this pipe. The wax ring it and set your toilet.

You would have to find somewhere else to drain the sink though. Where are you located I can come take a look.

Just remember to empty it before its over 3/4 full of solids. Disposal is easy if you have close neighbors. No pipes required.

I'm in Little Canada. I'm job hunting, so I am available almost all the time if needed. Let me know if you can find some time(and close enough) to stop over and check it out. I know the first thing you will say is "Not enough room"

You could PM some pics and I could tell you more. I would come down there ready to work for cash though. You need about 30" across and about 36" deep for the stool area. Another 30"next to it for a little vanity or pedestal. So a room about 5' x 3' could work.
