    Movie Theaters

Anyone else insulted by the fact that theaters have started charging you 8 bucks to sit through like 10 minutes of commercials and another 10 of previews before the show starts? And that doesn't even include the advertisement slides and awful "movietunes" before show time. The main culprit is AMC, i think. They've taken over several theaters near me lately, then took away the supersaver matinee. No wonder these people are making so much money, they can take over all these theaters so quick! It hasn't stopped anyone from going to movies! Last night i went to Willow Creek 12 off 169 and Betty Crocker. I was very impressed to find that they don't do that there! NO commercials, slides, or any of that crap, and the supersaver was still in effect. Willow Creek was very modern, with stadium seating and nice seats and all. It's a Muller theater,so there are more like it around. Anyone know of any other BS-free theaters?

ya, i think its also bs that we have to sit and watch commercials that we see every day at home. Then they invade the theaters where you cant change the channel to avoid them. Bs that we pritty much pay to see commercials.

Same here Akro.. I find it funny that the last movies that I went to, had those pitiful anti-piracy ads before the show. Hmmm, let's see pay $8 (just for yourself), another $5-6 if you want any goodies from the 'food stand' and sit in an uncomfortable chair, not smoke, can't go to the bathroom without missing 5 minutes, rip-off of a movie. Or, 'rent' it off the internet. Do the math.
Dear Government, eventually the people with money will tell you to fuck off, and stop paying for those that don't work

The shit's up to 8-bux now?!? Geezus... what a joke Most commercials piss me off! Especially in a movie theater! Boy parents must really want to get rid of their kids... cuz anytime I go, it's loaded with 'em there, and they must flip 'em an easy twen to go with admission and ripoff food prices.

Those commercials are stupid as hell. I was really pissed about the price the movie theatre charges to get in to a movie, until I found out 90% of the ticket goes back to the company that put the movie out (miramax, WB, etc.) That sorta explains the insane prices that you pay for a frickin' pop, but it's still quite ridiculous.

thats BS, I would never see a movie at even that price, the regular matinee show for the Carmike in AV is like $5.75, but they have the super bargain show (which is the last showing of that movie before six, 7 days a week) for only $3.75

so basically what I am saying is, next time you want to see a movie, Jump onto cedar heading south, until you would see Carmike theater in AV on the left.
