Can I register my car in TX?

I am going to TX for military training for 11 months. Some people were saying that I could register my car down there and get tint, then when I come back I wouldn't be able to get ticketed for it.

I get hassled a lot by cops, right now the car doesnt have tint and I want to get some. I have 35% on my corolla and thats about as dark as I would go.

If not a 50% on the front for when they test it and 40% on the back.

when my brother had his truck registered in new mexico he would get tint tickets up here and in iowa all the time.

where's the proof? i got ticketed for tint in WI before when i had a mn license plates and mn driver license.

i would say the law is the law for where you are, doesn't matter what it is where you come from. people from michigan are still supposed to have a front license plate when they are here.

no they aren't. If your car is registered in a state where only 1 plate is needed and your license and residence is in the same state as where the car is registered they can't ticket you for not having the 2nd plate in you come to Minnesota. Same thing goes for tint.


And as for someone comparing this to a speeding ticket that is like comparing apples to oranges. Yes they are both fruits, but they are 2 different kinds of fruits.

I believe there something with reciprocity and allowing one state to enforce another state's laws or something like that.
