    Pothole Damage

So yeah - hit a bigass pothole on the way home tonight in the dark that hit hard enough to make my neck hurt The car pulls to the right after the accident, the steering feels a little funny. I'm not sure it is because of the possible alignment issues or if it damaged anything else.

I called the MNDOT dispatch and reported the hole - asked who to contact and was given the name Sheila Kauppi for tort claims. Anyone ever file a claim with MNDOT for damage your car received from roads that are falling apart?

I sure as hell the tire/wheel is ok - aluminum 16" with a new Blizzak WS-60 replacement would be damn close to an insurance deductible...

What a bunch of fucking bullshit. No mention of their ridiculous spending and retarded budget management as potential issues? And if gasoline consumption is declining, it means less miles are being driven on roads... so how the fuck is a miles tax going to do anything? And if less gas is used and less miles are driven, roads shouldn't need the same amount of upkeep.

God knows how this country survived before everything was taxed to hell and back. How many years until we have a breath counter and pay per breath?

How about changing the rules to stop having 3 or 4 HUGE MN dot dump trucks on the highway, spaced 1/4 mile apart, to prepare us for the 4 man crew working on the median 1 mile ahead. Not going after any worker, just the stupid rules. I mean how many dump trucks does one need with flashing lights?

3 or 4 HUGE ones. Preferably spaced 1/4 mile apart.

                I agree!

This reminded me. Today I pulled out of my neighborhood onto a road with 2 lanes each way. 40 mph speed limit. And there was a car that had flipped and rolled a few times. I have no idea how the fuck it happened. But it isn't the first time.

Moral of the story: people are fucking stupid.

Roads should not be federal governments responsibility, and having the fed print money to repair our roads is not a good idea either. I'm guessing you are just venting though...

Yes and you wont get a penny. It's a road hazard you should of been on the lookout for and its entirely your fault you hit it. Atleast thats how MNdot sees it.

If you ever work on a hi-way you will feel that isnt enough protection.

There are some stupid people on earth and even if you're one of the smart ones, thats to protect us from them.

Get out there working the streets with assholes flying by you and your head on a swivel because soccer mom is going 90 with 2 kids strapped in, on the cell phone and a McNugget in the other hand and you will start to think that they are blind to the 4 trucks they go past. They are there to make people pay attention because too many workers have died with 1 blinky light truck, too many workers have died with 2 blinky light trucks, too many workers have died with 3 blinky light trucks, and now there are rules set in place you must have safety provisions including multiple warning signs/trucks. Work a street crew for a day and you will think there arent enough provisions for safety on your behalf.

Plus they never wear out.

                          I disagree.

Imo, those street/highway workers have balls. I couldn't do it.

Wrong! The state will pay for repairs due to pot holes and such, might take some angry phone calls but if you stay on theri ass they will pay you for damages.
