Going to go do some snowmobiling in the morning out in West Yellowstone and just wondering if any of you have been out there and what trails/places to eat you guys recommended if any.

Check with the avalanche center before you go out.

Don't speed when coming back in by way of the airport. The Forest Service guys jump out of the woods and radar you as you fly by nearly hitting them.

Been there, done that, got the ticket.

Try to find the Big Sky trail that will lead you into some awesome bowls and play areas. Look for a small hiking trail that winds thorough the trees and is only about one sled wide once you turn off of the groomed trail. It is a little boon docking, but worth it when you finally get up to the play areas.

            Have fun and be safe,
            Randy

Depending on which route you take, you should stop in Shoshoni & get a milkshake @ the Yellowstone drug store I stop there every time

I was out there about four years ago with my boss. He knew the trails and took us all over the place. I have no clue where we went or how we got back but I do remember stopping at Upper and Lower Mesa Falls. There was also another creek there that was the background of some Polaris photos I believe. Great time and plenty of snow. There were quite a few areas of untouched powder that we hit up.
Like I said, it's been so long and I don't even remember the restaurant we ate at one night but it was gooood. Pick and grill your own burger or steak. If I recall, it was right outside of town. There are a few good bars within to eat at too.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE AVY CONDITIONS EACH DAY! The avy danger out west is extremely high this year due to a weak base layer of snow.

West Yellow is a fun place. There are a ton of good places to eat and grab a drink. The trail system is pretty good if that is what you are in too. If it is clear out, I suggest taking the trail up to Two Top, very nice view. There is also a lot of great back country riding areas out there too. I have found that the Big Sky trail is heavily traveled and is always washed out. But if you can handle the bumps for a few miles, there is some awesome play areas.

I will be leaving Mpls in a few hours to do some riding out in Colorado. Cannot wait!

Screw the trails, Take a trail out aways, mark your spot w/ a gps and go out backcountry riding. Best time youll have. Id also check into avalanch beacons incase. Its a blast, youll never wanna ride here again.
