if video_master shows you the dyno plot, you can see that his exhaust is restricting it quite a bit. Also, it's got 2V cleveland heads, not the saught after 4V.
    god damned tinypic.

Exactly. The 4V heads would make a huge difference. Also a new full exhaust system would gain me 20 - 25 rwhp per the guys at HI TECH.

yes but i've heard of people making some sick power with those 2v heads also. although i can't remember if they were blower/turbo cars or not.......
probably were. ah well. throw the closed chambers on there and you'll seriously kick some ass

He wants to put straight pipes on.

Personally I don't think that will sound too good. LTDpower and I were telling him to put on some summit welds.

Indeed, straight through is fun for a while, but it gets loud and annoying, also you don't get the tone that would be had from a nice set of chambered mufflers.

What do you guys think of 2 chamber flowmaster 40 series?

I found a set of hooker headers for $182 that I'm gonna save for next.

Good mufflers, I'm gonna pimp these Welds to death.

That's a good price on Cleveland headers.

The headers have a 3" collector, what do you suggest for pipes? I want a minimum of 2.5" or do you think I should go 3"?

You won't need 3" for the current motor, but thinking ahead, you'll probably want to have 3" when your car is in the 9's.

I dunno, you'll have to price it out and see if 3" is viable

Center Inlet - Center Outlet Mufflers
                        389-952445 2.25'' Center In/Center Out Muffler $82.99
                        389-952545 2.5'' Center In/Center Out Muffler $82.99
                        389-953045 3'' Center In/Center Out Muffler $82.99

I'm also thinking of having someone just make a H Pipe as the X Pipe will no do me much more good then an H.

Mufflers may cost the same, but exhaust shops, pricing dependent on 2.5", 3", mandrel or crush bent, where exhaust exits, etc.

Exiting out the rear. I have already talked to 1 shop and they said they can do 3" mandrel bent.

3" will be too much I think.
