Went through it when I was a kid, parents lost everything (middle of winter in Siberia and no family close by, no such thing as renters/ owners insurance) that sucked.

I feel bad for these folks, section 8 or not, it sucks.

This day and age though I can't believe people don't pay the few $$ for renters insurance (I think it was $11/month when I was renting 5 or 6 yuears ago).

This is a true statement. My mother grew up on assistance for almost her entire childhood. She put herself through college and now has 2 masters. Her mother finally got to a point she could help her self and has been working with teen mothers for almost 20 years. Sucks so many people take advantage because some people really better themselves with those programs.
