    Title?

I got a near mint bronco II for a winter vehicle for a bottle of vodka. But the guy didnt have a title and the previous owner moved. So, do I fill out work orders and have them signed by john doe for 6 months ago and put a mechanics lean on it saying he didnt pay? that way, I could sell it to the highest bidder of... say 25 dollars and force title?

Thats the way it was way back in the day, and was curious if anyone knows how to go about doing it in this day and age...

    Thanks, Brian

I think you can still file for lost title on the veh.

Are you selling it..? or still trying to acquire it (legally)?

Sweet... find out if there's a specific web address for personalize plates (to see if what you are thinking is already taken).

I don't think there is a public site for looking that up, but I can have my mom look up any plate to see if it is taken or not. She runs the Arden Hills exam station.

Youre going to have to contact the DMV, saras not sure about the mechanics lean, she thinks the previous owner would need to apply for a duplicate title, but there has to be an easier way.

as far as a web site for plates, no, you have to go to the DMV.

Why couldn't you say you had the title and lost it before you could transfer it. Then you could possibly get it forced through.

I'm sure there used to be a site where you could check to see if a certain plate was taken... but it's no longer around. It's such a PITA to wait in line forever just to check and see of a few plates are available.
