been there. sucks ass. If he's in pain, let him go.

My biggest regret was keeping our dog around longer than we should have. She was in so much pain, but being selfish and not letting her go was one of the worst things I did.

I agree I dont look forward to the day my dog passes away, my wife and I are so attached to her and we've only had her for about 1 1/2 yrs.

I don't know if I buy the life expectancies that I used to read. I know of many people that have boxers live from 10-13 years which is pretty good for a large dog. You have to keep in mind that they're different coming from any breeder and thus in different areas of the country.

And Crazy, you have done what you could. You gave him a good home and cared for him. You may want to let him go so you don't have such painful memories. I have been in similar positions and like Nick, I regret not ending it sooner.

Same thing happened to my Boxer, man. They are great dogs but they all live with the probability of tumors and cancers. Sucks to hear. Good luck, I hope she pulls through.

this sucks i have lost several Boxers in the past due to cancer and tumors.very hars.but just remember all the fun they were when they were healthy.you gotta decide is it wortk going bankrupt for a pet.i got a smaller boxer now a boston terrier and same fun less medical worries..

My dog is just starting to enter his senior years too. It really sucks because we're aware that this dog we have now is the best dog we've ever had and the best one we'll ever have. He's that one dog you compare the rest of the dogs you have to throughout the rest of your life. He's still perfectly healthy, thank goodness.

We are starting to kind of look around for a puppy. Our reasoning is that perhaps the puppy will take after our existing dog. Does anyone else here have any experience with this?
