Gun Show in Hastings this Weekend

Has anyone been to a show put on by this place? I've never been to a gun show before but I am thinking of going to this one. If I were to buy a gun at a show like this would I need cash monies?

Those Crocodile Production Gun Shows are OK. I haven't been to one in a few years but they usually have more knives on display than guns.

I went to the Hastings show one time. It was to return something that I bought from one of their shows the week before so I was only in there for about 10 minutes and I didn't get a good feel for it.

Do you need cash? Possibly. The show consists of private dealers and non dealers. It's up to the individual that you're buying a gun from if they will only except cash. I would bring cash just to be safe.

Keep in mind.... just because it's a "gun show" does not mean the place is full of good deals. In my past experience, most of the deals were average at best.

If you're looking to buy large quantities of cheap AK47/SKS ammo (7.62 X 39) this will be the place to buy it!
(usually from the guy wearing the bright blue overalls)

    Good luck.

I bought my 1911 in october from a gun show in Mankato held by them. They arent so much the people supplying the guns, as the promoter who gets the dealers together. Some people had alright deals. I got mine for $50 cheaper than anywhere else I had seen.
The show was fine. They had a pretty good selection of guns.

Anything in particular your looking for?

AR-15 mostly. Or I would settle for just about any brand semi-auto shotgun. Maybe I will save the 85 mile drive this would be for me and just head down to Cabelas.

I would much rather go to a Minnesota weapons collectors show.

The show's in red are the best ones to go to because it is a huge show and has free parking unlike the rivercentre shows.

You pay like 5 bucks to get in. Then exchange Federal Reserve Notes for firearms. From what I understand, if you are buying from a private seller there is no background checks. If you buy from a dealer it is just like buying a gun in a retail store (permit to purchase + background check, etc.).

You should just buy a bunch of assault rifles.

It would be like that one movie with robin williams

I works just like an automotive swap meet except they're selling guns instead of auto parts. Anyone can rent a spot to sell their guns. You do NOT need to be a licensed dealer to sell at the show. That is where the "gun show loop hole" comes into play. if you want to buy a gun but can't legally own one,(example: convicted felon) just go to a gun show and buy one from a private seller. A private seller could have his table setup right next to a dealer and you could still legally buy a gun with no background check and/or no permit to purchase. Bring cash and walk out the door with your new gun.

You have to get your permit to purchase first...
