Wow, do I have a cop story for you guys...

So I stayed up at the girlfriend's house last night in Monticello which was fun - it was all cool last night.
But this morning I woke up, got ready, and went to Caribou for coffee. 20 minutes later. I'm walking out the door to my car. That's right - it took the girl 20 minutes to make a damn cup of coffee. And it wasn't even busy in there. Small gripe, but ok – on with the rest of my day.
I'm cruising along down back to the cities for work, hitting every polish road block there is when finally some idiot's light bulb turns on and he realizes "slower traffic move right?" I had been held at 60 mph by these guys so then I kick it up a notch to the speed limit (70 mph) on 94 south, above 694 and I'm cruising along passing slow people left and right. When some Taurus PULLS THE F OUT IN FRONT OF ME , causing me to slam the crap out of my brakes and pull off left onto the shoulder. He literally left me maybe 3 feet to make this move. Lucky me and my heightened driving senses or I would have parked my car in his trunk. Anyway, I proceeded to begin getting back into the normal lane, and slowing down to give this new road block some room, when out of nowhere the guy SLAMS THE CRAP OUT OF HIS BRAKES. So again - on the brakes and off to the shoulder for me. So At this point I had had enough of this BS, so I pull into the middle lane, and then again in to the right lane. Luckily there was no one in the right lane at this point, and start to go the speed limit again, when this same Blue Taurus tries to broad side me when I'm getting back into the middle lane.
I about freaked out. But I'm thinking to myself - it really doesn't do any good to get all pissed off about this. Just get to work and you'll be fine. So by this point I'm going a little quicker to get away from this psycho, like maybe 75 to 80 and sure enough, cherries in the rear view mirror.
So I start to pull over to the right, and I notice IT'S THAT TAURUS!!1! So, I'm like "alright, calm down..... Try your hardest not to pound this retard" So he walks up to the car, about to shit a brick literally this guy is tweaking out, and he says to me "What the fuck are you doing?"
So I say "Uhh, trying to drive?"
He says "Really? You don't realize everything you did wrong back there?"
He adds "You KNOW DAMN WELL, what you were doing, you just happened to do it in front of someone who can pull you over." ,"Give me your License and proof of insurance"
I give it to him, and he doesn't even say anything.
Keep in mind this guy is not in uniform, nor does he provide me with his name or affiliation.
I'm just thinking to myself "calm down, resist the urge to argue with this guy over everything illegal he's doing right now"
He comes back to the car, and asks "Do you still live in Hugo?" so I tell him yes and he asks "What are you doing way up here then?"
I said "I stayed at my girlfriend's house in Monticello"
He says "Where are you going?"
And I say "I'm just heading to work?"
"Oh really? Are you late? Is that why you're driving like a complete fucking moron?"
I come back with the best thing I possibly could have at the time "I'm not even late.... I have plenty of time."
So he says "So you were driving recklessly, speeding, changing lanes without signaling, and tailgating for no reason at all?" None of which I was actually doing, so I deny that and just so "No? I didn't think I was doing any of that."
He says "I think what we have here is a seriously bad case of road rage. That's what's going on. And you better cool it, and quit driving like that."
At this point I was kind of like; whatever I don't even care anymore. I kind of thought it was funny that he was the one accusing me of all this. I almost said "Road Rage? You're the one who cut me off, you're the one who slammed on his brakes without giving me a chance to back off, and you’re the one who pulled me over without cause..... WHO DOES IT LOOK LIKE HAS ROAD RAGE RIGHT NOW!!11!?"
But I held back and said to him in a light friendly tone "No, I'm doing ok..."
So he says then "You better just knock it off in the future, you're fucking lucky it's Friday, and I don't have a ticket book with me. Get out of here."
Still, never gave me his name or affiliation. So I have no clue if this was even legit or not.
He was in an unmarked 05 or 06 Blue Taurus with inside Lights and sirens from the Maple Grove area.
Everyone knows if he really wanted to give me a ticket, he could have given dispatch all the info and they would have mailed out a ticket, but since he was doing more illegal stuff than I was, he probably couldn't.
I should have thought to get the plates on the car.
I bet nothing pisses off power trip cops more than playing dumb, and not admitting to anything.
So I was pretty happy to have pissed him off good and plenty if that was the way he was going to be.

Cliffs - Guy cuts me off on the freeway and slams on his brakes and turns out to be a cop, and then pulls me over for driving recklessly. Is kind of a jerk to me, but I kept my cool and he doesn't end up giving me a ticket for something I wasn't even doing.

That guy was having a power trip. His actions put you and others in more danger of physical harm. He could have been severely reprimanded for his actions. Not identifying himself with badge and name is also wrong.

Good thing you kept your cool!

      What the fuck.

You should have stood up for yourself and explained the situation and why you did what you did!

No poilce officer should ever be swearing at you and calling you a moron. That is complete bullshit.

Sounds like it was a detective. They are usually in plain clothes and drive unmarked Taurii or Ford 500's.

And 9 times out of 10, they don't care a citation booklet

Paragraphs motherfucker. Use um. Also, don't EVERRRRR give your shit to an unmarked car with a guy in plain clothing and no ID. I would have been on the phone w/ the police as I was getting pulled over. I also don't think we heard the FULL story.

Yeah, I don't ever believe in giving law enforcment more trouble than they already deal with. But it was really frustrating not being able to do anything about it.
I'm pretty sure slamming on your brakes even if someone is tailgating you is reckless driving. Let alone cutting me off.

All maneuvers were done carefully and within the limits of the law - waiting a few seconds between lane changes - leaving enough space between me and other cars and signaling. Other than trying to speed up a little to get away from this guy. Which I felt was justified due to his driving.

Normally I'm pretty relaxed when I drive to work. A few things get on my nerves, but I don't ever try to drive like an idiot.

I've seen that blue Taurus on 94/694 a lot pulling people over, pretty sure he's State Patrol.
