Hey guys I am new to this site and the area. I have a bone stock 2002 mustang GT with 75,000 or so miles on it now. I want to have some work done to it. I was thinking about doing a full exhaust, cams, porting the heads, throttle body, intake, gears and maybe a supercharger at some point. I was thinking about having the work done at a shop near to me called speed shop specialty. A guy i met said they are pretty good. Anyone ever dealt with them or know anyhting about them? are they a pretty good shop? any feedback is appreciated. thanks.
Where to have work done?

Hi-Tech is pretty much the place to go for this kind of stuff. Stay away from DB Performance if you have a Mustang. People also have not had good luck with Speed Shop Specialties.
Hi-Tech is located in Elk River. Contact number is 763-712-9088. http://www.hitechmotorsport.com/Originally posted by NickThe choice is easy.

Oh I don't know, bringing a Mustang there for a tune that ran decent, having it run like shit by the time they were done and not having any of the $600 refunded to you would be a good start on not having them at the top of your "recommended shop list". Fortunately, Casey at Hi-Tech was able to fix DB's mistakes on that particular car.Originally posted by CAMSS30 View PostWhats wrong with DB, they are just as good as HT for what thats worth.
edit: This is not my own car, but I was there for the entire process, at both shops.Originally posted by NickThe choice is easy.

Kinda like having a car tuned and then spinning a bearing a day later?Originally posted by Stormwalker View PostOh I don't know, bringing a Mustang there for a tune, having it run worse by the time they were done and not having any of the $600 refunded to you would be a good start on not having them at the top of your "recommended shop list". Never the less both places are good and bad, just stay away from the shops that have owners that think they are God's and talk shit on the internet and you should be ok.
Buying muscle/sports cars/regular cars/trucks, send me info, I pay cash or credit card if that makes you feel better!

Speed Shop Specialties do not conduct themselves in a professional manner. In fact, I would say that they are quite childish. Not a good place to go.LOOK HERE:Originally posted by Pony5.0but hey we have broken up 2 times in the past week and she keeps crawling back to me and she told me she would never crawl back to a guy and i am the only one. she tells me she loves me and everything!

I've heard of people that had a great experience at DB. My post might be kind of a shock to a few people, since we didn't see the need to create a big drama thread over this. Really, they did fuck Nate over pretty badly. That car wouldn't even idle by the time it was off of their dyno, even though it idled decent when he brought it there. They claimed it had the incorrect camshaft. It was really quite interesting how it only took Casey an hour or so to get the car running nicely with the "incorrect camshaft".Originally posted by CAMSS30 View PostKinda like having a car tuned and then spinning a bearing a day later?

You bet that if I screwed up on someone's tax return or something, I'd either fix it or refund their fee entirely, at the very least. Evidently DB doesn't adhere to that kind of business model, unfortunately.Originally posted by NickThe choice is easy.

Personally, I would chose DB Performance, Hi-tech motorsport, or APS autoworks for something like what you are looking for. I've had/heard of good experiences with all of them. Nick8.54 @ 159 mph on a 275 drag radial
