I seen an odd cobra today.

I was driving into town and a blue cobra passed me on the highway, i was like "sweet", and then i looked at the rear license plate and it had a little badge on the left side of it, and there was a four digit number to the right of the badge, and it said "sheriff" on it, and the plates also said Tennessee. I thought to myself, what would he be doing all the way up here?
Anyone got a response for this?

I know Tennisee has Mustangs n Cameros that are cop cars no signs no lights real black windows they try n get you to race em then give you a ticket in Chattanooga there was a new chevy pick up on 20s with lights in the grill. they got all kinda stuff in the south some of em have out of state plates n dark windows no sign of being a cop car at all

Yeah this thing had no lights no nothing on it to indicate that it was a cop car, except for the plate.

About 3 years ago when I drove down to Indy for the 500, was cruising along at about 95, and this White Navigator came flying up on me. So I accelerate, he accelerates, pretty soon we are doing about 120 and he is hanging right there with me.

That's when I saw the lights behind the grill. I slow down, he changes lanes, waves and blows on by.

TO this day, dunno what sort of officer this was, but he wasn't interested in me. Musta had something better to do.

I dont know if its illegal, but Eagan police are doing from what I hear. I guess there is a silver MX6 (I think thats what the car is) rolling around and if you try racing the car there is a cop waiting just out of sight ahead. Then there is some other guy I heard about that will call the cops before her races somebody to try getting the cops to bust the other car.

I have seen Wisconsin state troopers use Mustangs, well I've seen two in the last three years. Made me do a double take when a red Mustang with WI trooper plates passed me.

either oakdale or st paul police have a Z28 cop car. dont remember which one. its not stealthy at all, however, its got police badging all over it. it just makes me think:
"extravagently mispent tax dollars. the same amount of money would have bought the usual crown vic with money to spare, which isnt ANY slower than the z28, especially since the police crown vic gets so many upgrades especially in suspenion"

just makes me mad. I like to pretend that all my tax dollars go to the como zoo, not some copper's fun ride.

If I remember correctly, one cop was telling me that with all the crap they put in the crown vic they weigh about 6000 lbs. That is a major dif. compared to the Z28. Plus as people buy faster cars, the cops need faster cars to catch them. Why should a normal person be able to outrun a cop? By the way Lance, you never told us what you finally did for your exhaust.

alright dave heres where you messed up.

A cop WASNT the one who told you that a squad car wieghs 6000, I was standing right next to you, and it was MARK, the guy with the 351w who was shootin his mouth off about all kinds of things. i dont believe a whoel lot of what he said. AND also im going to point out that the REASON the fucking squad crown vic MIGHT WIEGH 6 thousand pounds is BECAUSE of all the computer add ons and suspension, which you better believe they have to do the SAME to the z28, SOOO you have to compare CURB WHEIGHTS, which there may, at MOST, be a about a 500 pound difference. Anyway you dice it, i have no reason to believe that the squad Z28 would even nominally outperform your average squad car. Therefore i label it a blatent waste of tax dollars.

ALSO:
You and me both have seen teh online clip of the squad car catching right up to the brand new mach1 on the highway and spinning it out WITHOUT A PROBLEM, I'd say the squad car cought up REAL fast. the crown vic's serve there purpose so you cannot say that it was necssary spending.


AND FINALLY, dave, about my exhaust:
Yes i got straight pipes and I FUCKING love them. :fu2: No one has ever given me more shit about something than you did at the avenue. I could not be happier with my exhaust, and if i were you I'd really lay off about that. We're both dynoing on the 29th and i shoudl hope we can be getting along by then.

i just checked. the crown vic weights almost exactly 500 lbs more than a Z28. not a huge difference....

Chill out man, I only asked what you decided to do. You need to take a Valeum (sp?) or something like that. And no, I heard the squad thing from someone else besides that guy at Porky's. That is why I agreed with him on that weight. I don't remember a clip with a new Mach 1 getting spun out from a cop, please provide a link as that would be cool to see. Also the crown vic with no mods is 239 @ 4900 rpm so with a chip and a couple other mods yes, I could see it catching up to a Mach 1 that is stock. Still want to see the video though.
