Subfloor over below grade concrete?

I have an area in my basement I'd like to do some flooring over. Right now, its painted concrete, and isn't exactly even.

I've spent a decent chunk of the weekend googling. What I came up with was:

1. Use a floating sub floor product like dri-core. Install per instructions

2. Use 1/4" plywood for vinyl/tile flooring
green stripe, 1/4' 4x8. Nail/screw to dricore flooring system.

3. Use a primer over the 1/4" to promote adhesion between vinyl and sub floor.

4. Apply vinyl tile over the above. I'll prob rent a roller to make sure the shit is pressed own good.

This the right idea?

I looked into this stuff when I finished a basement bathroom that was just a concrete floor. It is very spendy, and I was only doing a 11'X12' room. I ended up just putting vinyl down on the concrete, and it turned out fine.

VERY cold in the winter. Wife says we need to have something down there.

On a side note, I am watching ET, this must be the new version, I don't remember ET getting into water sports in the first one....

Put down ceramic tile. My floor was very similar to what you are describing. I just used a thicker than normal thinset base to even it out.

You can lay down a thick sheet of textured lexan if you want to roll a chair.

Floor has been painted at least 3 times...No idea how well the paint would hold up...

Ask a professional to come out and give you a quote as long as its free. Have them tell you how they would do it. then do it your self. I have done this with cars also when I could not figure out what was wrong. Its sneaky but it works.
