So the storry goes-

A friend lives with his GF and 1 yo son.
Well today he found out hes 99% match to be the father of an 18 mo daughter with an old ex.

Poof!! There goes $500 a month. To the non working, bum of a "mother"

So my questions is how the fuck is someone suppose to support a gf and one kid off 1000$ take home a month while still paying for food, gas, ins, elec, and day to day living.

How flawed the system is.

(oh, and in before the "he should have used a condom" comments, I already threw that one into his face)

1000 a month is after the 500 a month the court is taking.
I dont know what he makes hr. I do know that 1500 a month take home should be around 12-13 hr?

Well this person takes home 1500 month, so we will take 500 for baby, (I think we all know damn well the kid wont get all 500$ of that) that leaves 1000 to split between another kid, himself, and cost of living. How does that work

IMO he is manning up, he was fighting in court to get custody, he got a lawyer and shit. He went from 0 to 48% custody. He wants nothing more than to the the best father to the kid.

That is $125 a week for diapers, formula, any medical that may pop up, clothes, daycare?? The list goes on and on.

$500 aint shit today when it comes to kids. I was paying more in daycare then his take home in one month. And that is including that $500

I think well in that case Kid B should need $500 a month.

So that leaves $500 a month for the father to live life and take care of everything else.

Na, this is a dude i brought up and trained at work several years ago. He came into his interview when he was like 17 with pen caps in his ears for plugs. Hes done alot of growin up.

Well my understanding is that the % is not based on what you make but what yo uare capable of making. HAs he had a better paying job before this?? I am pretty sure its based on earning potential. I know its fucked but I also have a friend getting the shaft this way.

I have to agree entirely. I know i didnt use shit for elec, was $120 this month, then i figure my car ins $40 month. Plus gas of 120-150 month if I drive the neon, 300 month if I drive the truck, plus food, and anything else I need to live.

That shit adds up quick!
