    Tranny Info (not mustang)

I am looking for somewhere I can find info on what tranny I can hook up to my truck. I need some taller gears, I'm tired of running out of gear at around 65. I got a 390 out of a 72 F250 camper special. Any help is appreciated.

I got a manual right now, kind of like to stay that way. I'm pulling something like 3000 rpm at 70. So yea OD would do, or something more.

something more? like you talking those under/overdrive gear boxes that go on the back that pretty much double your speeds?
i don't really have much experience at all with them, just a little research. i guess they hold up REALLY well, like your tranny will break before they will. (1,000 ft lbs)
i actually feel stupid because i can't think of what the old FE motors used for trannies? i mean, did they use c6's for automatics? if so, then you'd have alot of options.

yeah, they mostly used C6's, toploader 4 speeds, and the good ol' FMX. auto.

I just want to be able to do like 70 75 without spinning up so high on that engine. What I got right now is a 4 speed, but 1st is a granny gear.

might just be easier to swap out rear end gears and front gears if its 4wd...get some nice highway gears.. 3.07's or something

Do they have those for auto AND manuals? i've actually been looking for an O/D option for the Bronc. How much are they? How do you activate O/D with them?
